.

Hopefully, it was not so long ago that you do not recall the refreshing and revitalising feeling that you felt.  If you have ever camped out, or completed a longer trek in the bush, you will already know and treasure the greater replenishing results you gain.

It is no news that our minds and bodies respond to the energy and calming surrounds that abound in the outdoors.  Indigenous cultures base their entire lifestyle and beliefs upon it.  All modern health and medicinal solutions acclaim and recommend it.

Bushlab´s approach is engrained with the simplest of elements...the same elements that have governed the beliefs, traditions and rituals of traditional folk since time immortal...the element that conducts and fashions the very environment in all its marvellous forms.  It is the element of Nature herself.

As a laboratory for experiences, ideas and insights, Nature provides the perfect "test-tube".
A neutral and undiscriminating space in which to work together.

In business workplaces, people interact with each other regularly as a result of their occupations.  Roles and positions are metered out and maintained under the realm of professionalism and in the name of productivity.  Workplaces as entities are harbours of set behaviours, beliefs and expectations, upon which without would cease to function with any fluidity or success.

. But these very elements may also stifle the development process of individuals who work together as a team.  They may cloud perceptions and make it difficult for members to see each other in new ways.  Work roles and workplace culture can shackle the process of team building.

Providing a forum in nature goes a long way to managing these workplace traditions and behaviours.  The entire difference of a natural environment with its new sets of colours, scents and sounds sets the stage for an altered approach.  Participants are also presented out of regular work uniforms, and minus the work tools and equipment that form part of the work image.  Roles and behaviours that are established back at work are not so applicable by the fireplace or in the forest.  Good team building work can begin...

There is a formidable undefined force in the forest.  It could be that same force that lulls a group into a calmness, stillness and in many ways an openness in front of a fire.  Everyone at one time or another has had a fireside chat.  Has anyone ever talked this way in the boardroom?

Bushlab recognises and incorporates the essence that is Nature, in providing programs and services in an outdoor laboratory.
